Gita D. Shingala
Founder & CEO

Gita Shingala is the founder of Capital Novus, and she has nurtured this Women and Minority Owned Enterprise since its inception. She is a core member of Capital Novus' Steering Committee, coordinates global management functions, and works as the driving force behind the HR Department—harnessing engineering and project management resources into our core strength. Gita also dedicates her time to support non-profit organizations engaged in education and community service. Gita is an Electrical Engineer from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and before launching Capital Novus, she served the New York Port Authority and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office examining new technology innovations.


Dharmesh B. Shingala
Founder & President

Dharmesh co-founded Capital Novus in 2002, with Founder Gita Shingala, after more than a decade developing and applying efficient and cost-effective solutions to difficult technology challenges for corporate and government clients. He helped to create the company in response to a growing demand from clients, including top national law firm IT managers and savvy litigators, seeking to gain an edge in electronic discovery. Born in India, Dharmesh was a National Merit Scholar and a graduate of the prestigious National Institute of Technology Calicut before coming to the United States for graduate studies in systems engineering. He holds a Master's Degree from Virginia Tech University.


Thomas J. Skelley
Executive Vice President
Tom has worked in the litigation and document management field for more than 20 years. He has experience in the corporate, legal and vendor environments, giving him a unique perspective on the challenges facing each sector. Prior to joining Capital Novus, Tom served as Director of Litigation Support at Covington & Burling, where his responsibilities included the implementation of litigation related technology, case management, and internal e-discovery consulting. He has also worked with a Fortune 500 company in the telecommunications industry as a Technical Project Manager in the General Counsel's Office, and as a Program Manager on a federal government litigation support contract. At Capital Novus, he is primarily responsible for project management, pricing, and statement of work negotiations and contractual arrangements. He is also involved with the development and implementation of technology relating to litigation support, as well as technology related to the tracking of various matters for international business units.

Harivadan J. Pandya, CPA, FCA, ACWA
Chief Financial Officer

Hari has been with Capital Novus for more than three years. He is responsible for implementing accounting policies and procedures globally for the company. He works closely with the Management team outlining strategies to ensure continued growth in the market place. Prior to joining Capital Novus, Hari served as CFO at Sahajanand Group of Companies. Hari began his career in auditing and consulting in India. He brings 12 years of experience in Business Valuation, Designing Financial Systems, Internal Controls, Auditing, Financial Fraud Investigation, and Accounting. He is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant, and Cost & Works Accountant. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with Advanced Accounting from the Gujarat University.


Gregory Brooks
Vice President of Information Technology

Greg came to Capital Novus from the law firm of Morrison Foerster where he served most recently as the Litigation Support Coordinator in the Washington, DC office. There he functioned as an integral team member and Project Manager in many high profile cases across the United States, Europe, and Japan. He obtains an expert knowledge of database systems and process/workflow automation and extensive experience in providing innovative directives for information and knowledge management. His extensive programming background and his research and application of data and textual mining algorithms make him a tremendous asset to Capital Novus.


John Mercer
Senior Consultant for Government Performance

John is internationally recognized as a foremost expert in performance-based budgeting, as well as governmental strategic planning and performance management. With three decades of high-level government experience in those areas, he is the lead design architect for our CASCADE Performance-Based Budgeting Software™. He has been a performance management consultant to many federal agencies and several non-US national governments, and has testified before committees of Congress on that subject. John is widely known as "the Father of GPRA" for having proposed and drafted a major federal reform, the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), while serving as Counsel to the US Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs. As a World Bank contractor, he designed a performance budgeting system for the Republic of Indonesia. John has served as Mayor of Sunnyvale, California and as Deputy Assistant Secretary at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. He holds a degree in public administration from San Jose State University and a law degree from the University of Notre Dame.


April Tate Tishler, Esq.
Vice President of Novus Trial Consulting Division

April is the Vice President of the Novus Trial Consulting division at Capital Novus. She is a proven expert in effective information design and the creation of compelling demonstratives for use at trial. She has been published on several occasions regarding the implementation of information design principles for high-stakes litigation, and she routinely conducts CLE presentations to litigators and their clients nationwide regarding the effective use of demonstratives at trial. Formerly, April was a litigator in the intellectual property group at Jones Day in New York as well as Washington, DC, specializing in patent, trademark, and commercial matters. She is an Order of the Coif, magna cum laude graduate of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, specializing in intellectual property, and graduated with distinction from the University of Virginia with a BA in English and Photography. April is also a member of the New York and Washington, DC bars.


Ken Marchese
Director of Novus Forensics Division

Ken Marchese has dedicated his career to advising litigation teams on collection and review strategies focused on efficacy and efficiency. Ken's expertise is rooted in his years as a litigation paralegal and as Director of Litigation Support at the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP. He has also served in the litigation support groups at Winston & Strawn LLP and Crowell & Moring LLP. Ken has earned significant experience on the vendor side of the business where he has honed his business development and customer service skills. Ken holds a BA in Political Science and a BA in History from St. Francis University.


Gyorgy Pados
Director of Litigation Technology

Gyorgy is responsible for the development and overall administration of technology solutions geared to legal practice services and client requests. Before assuming his current position, Gyorgy held legal support positions at a number of AmLaw 100 firms, including Hughes Hubbard & Reed, Shearman & Sterling LLP, and Latham & Watkins LLP. He also worked with Syngence, LLC, a Dallas-based provider of sophisticated search technology. Gyorgy is a seasoned veteran in the field of practice support technology with 15 years of experience directing the delivery of support services from inception through completion. He has successfully directed the case management and technical, logistical, and operational support for high profile second requests, arbitrations, and FCAP and SEC proceedings in Frankfurt, Brussels, Milan, Den Hague, Geneva, London, Paris, Budapest and Sydney.


Nirav Avaiya
Director of Process and Production Engineering

Nirav began his career with Capital Novus as a System Engineer during the founding days of the organization. His superior quality assurance and continuous process improvement played a contributing role to his growth within Capital Novus. Under Nirav's direction, the Processing and Production teams are committed to high standards of quality, security and client satisfaction. Prior to joining Capital Novus, Nirav served as an Oracle Database Administrator for Cable & Wireless. Nirav holds a BS in Computer Information Systems from Strayer University.


Kirit Palsana
Director of Software Development

Kirit leads the Software Development and Business Application Group at the Capital Novus India operations center in Ahmedabad, Gujarat India. He is a graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Technology Surat. He is a mechanical engineer by training and a seasoned software developer. Kirit worked as a Design engineer with a leading software development company and has executed various design & automation projects with his proven expertise in automation software. He knows several programming languages and coordinates projects from start to finish. He is also a member of our Senior Management team and works closely with the Information Technology Division at the Corporate Headquarters.


Harsh Sutaria
Director of e-Discovery Consulting & Client Services

Harsh is focused on helping clients leverage Capital Novus' unparalleled technology and engineering resources to quickly address case specific requirements and design matter specific solutions. Harsh began his career at Capital Novus holding several IT and Client Relation positions during the founding years of the organization. His growth within the company reflects his subject matter expertise and unwavering focus on client needs and satisfaction. A strong proponent of innovation and process improvement, Harsh plays a vital role in managing and training team members to ensure efficient, cost-effective solutions. Prior to joining Capital Novus, Harsh served as an Analyst for Bank of America and has also worked for the Department of Defense on projects involving Enterprise Support Services for Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs) & TRICARE Management Activity, giving him a unique perspective on client management. Harsh holds a BS in Information Systems and is completing his MS in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University.


Ramesh Purohit
Manager of Government Business Development

Ramesh previously served the United States Consulate General in Mumbai, India, for over twenty-one years. As a Senior Commercial Specialist with the US & Foreign Commercial Service (International Trade Administration), he provided project and export consulting to US companies and developed several market entry strategies. He handled the U.S. Trade Development Portfolio with distinction for several years and received the State Department's Meritorious Honor Award. Since his relocation to the US in 2003, Ramesh served at the Smithsonian Institution and, more recently, as an International Specialist with Paxton International in Springfield, Virginia, where he managed global logistics and employee relocation issues for the State Department. Ramesh holds MBA and Law degrees from Indian Universities and a Graduate Certificate in Risk Management from the University of Maryland.
