Health Care Records Management

Health Care providers are legally required to keep medical archive files for a number of years. The cost associated with allocating space for these records is becoming an increasing problem. HIPAA regulations relating to the privacy and protection of patient records have to be considered, and government legislation has compounded the problem by asking healthcare organizations to work toward complete electronic patient records by 2014.

Capital Novus provides a comprehensive solution for the filing, organization, and extraction of your Health Care facility or institution’s patient records. Our experienced staff will provide pick-up, secure storage, ad hoc retrieval, and return of your records as they are completed in accordance with HIPAA Regulations. All of our products and services are both HIPAA-compliant and user-friendly. We provide your authorized staff with secure web access to these records via the Web until they are returned to you. Most clients who have their patient medical records digitized have them stored for three to six months before destroying the paper versions. The digital records are easier to update, search, manage, and store.

Multiple T-1 connections directly to a major local Internet Access Provider insure the site will be up 24/7 with very little possibility of interference from outside sources.

Maximum Security for Electronic Medical Records and Exchange Services Portal
Health E-Docs™ utilizes SharePoint 2010 and Edge Vault secure web-based repository software to provide its document H2H (Health Care Provider-to-Health Care Provider) and H2P ( Health Care Provider-to-Patient) services. System security is designed to provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, and legitimate use of the Health E-Docs™ EMR document repository. To effectively implement such a secure system, the system must address the following items:

•    Identification of the authorized users (identification and authentication)
•   Specification of what users will have access to (object access controls) and what types of operations users can perform on those objects
•   Auditing to determine what types of activities have occurred (e.g., the ability to maintain accountability via auditing)
•   Server security environment. Server capabilities and controls further address issues such as data and system integrity, reliability and availability, and may extend conditional access controls and provide assurance that all the above are operating properly and consistently
